This week: the 2nd half of our spooky celebrations, a Game Jam - but in Scratch, Fresher Rep Elections, an industry talk from QRT, and our courses continuing!
Forget what we said about relaxed schedules last week, with an event every day from Monday to Saturday! We start with our trip to Kasbah to get a spooky clubbing fix, our new sponsor Qube will give us an insight into their industry, and our Scratch Game Jam with Game Design will be great fun (and technically, academic)!
Our courses are nearing completion and still going strong, with the cross-society Python course in its penultimate week and our Rust course finishing! 1st years will have a chance to run and vote in the elections for our Fresher Rep!

Are you in 1st Year ? Want to get more involved with the creation of our events? Consider applying for Fresher Rep!
The Fresher Rep helps us to make sure our events are relevant and helpful for everyone in your year. You'd also be welcome to suggest and create events you'd like to see, of almost any type! For instructions on how to take part, see our event page linked in the title!
And most importantly: Only 1st years can vote in this election - it's a fresher rep, not a boomer selection!
🕒 Sat 5 Nov 3pm - 6pm 📍 Department of Computer Science
We're doing a game jam with Game Design Society, just with one little twist, it's in Scratch! Last year, we had great fun doing this, with someone even creating a 3D game engine inside of Scratch. I'm sure a worryingly high number of you all started programming in Scratch, so feel some nostalgia and give it a go!
It's still not quite Halloween, and I'm almost Halloweened out! But then that's what spending so long on a Wither costume does to you
The society relies on sponsorship to fund events, infrastructure, and all that free pizza you all love so much, so go check out our three sponsors we have lined up for this academic year:
