Are you balding? | Newsletter T3W4

Sun 17 May Newsletter

Did you know that...

Extreme finals stress, sleep-deprived coding marathons, and poor nutrition can trigger temporary hair shedding (telogen effluvium) in a student demographic (us) already genetically prone to male pattern baldness (also because of the male-to-female ratio).

I refuse to be bald! However... this is probably true until summer exam kicks in and I see strands of hair everywhere... maybe this is why the plastic surgery side of medicine is the most profitable...........

Again... here is another fact...

In the 18-to-25 college age bracket, roughly 20% of young men experience early male pattern baldness, while fewer than 12% of young women face visible hair thinning.

This means that I'm less likely to go bald.... Hopefully, I don't. Otherwise... I might need to go to Turkey like all the famous, rich footballers.

Anyways, welcome back everyone to greatness (my writing). I hope exam season hasn't crushed you into oblivion yet and that your eyes remain clear and not bloodshot red from monster overdose! Trust me. It's a horrifying sight. Please never become overdependent on this.

Any discussions you have with them will be treated sensitively. They will not share details more widely without your permission, except where they believe there is a serious risk of harm, a safeguarding concern, or another situation where they are required to escalate.

๐ŸŽฎ Friday Night Gaming ๐ŸŽฎ

๐Ÿ•– Fri 22nd May 7pm - 1am ๐Ÿ“ CS0.03

I love unlimited games.

Friday Nights. Gaming. FNG. That's all we've known. PCs, consoles, VR, snacks and drinks. The pinnacle. The untoppable and unstoppable force. Sometimes you must choose between the last U1 and continuing Never Gonna Give You Up on Clone Hero. Your home for some beats? Aye, a worthy sacrifice.

Join us in DCS every Friday from 7pm, until we close our doors at 1am due to exam season.

The Gaming Coordinators this year are: Raven, Laina, Luna, Santiago and Maddie - if you need help or just wanna yap, come find us :)

We have our DCS account login - any game (including via Steam!) that you can get running, you can play. We also have several consoles, including Xboxes, PS4, Switch 1 & 2, Wii, along with our PCs which I call Nuke Machine and Microwave, which you can use our Valve Index on, play Clone Hero, and more! We also have board games for anybody wanting a less tech-based way to enjoy games :)

Important: FNG is a sober event, please don't bring alcohol in, or you will be asked to leave.

Also Important: Make sure to tidy up after yourself before leaving, the department does a great kindness in letting us run this event, preferably we stay on their good side!

Hope to see you there :3 (Note: you don't have to be a DCS student to come along!)

Have you guys heard of the saying where people become extra religious before an exam?

Well, if worst comes to worst, UWCS might have to compile a list of religions and respective prayers to chant before an exam hall... it might be beneficial for our mental health. After all, statistically speaking, religious people are happier in life than non-religious people. I am not promoting any religions here. I am speaking from a place of desperation to achieve good results from some divine intervention ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ“ฟ.

Last but not least, good luck with everyone's upcoming exams again!
