Good evening all! Can't believe it is already November - basically Christmas.

As the evenings get colder and darker, and coursework season starts to KICK in, it's important to come to comp soc. This week we are running a LAN, where we spend the weekend gaming. You can find more details about the LAN below. There is also Sports Sunday which is Badminton this time. :)

I also want to say a massive congratulations to the new fresher reps. We are all very excited to see what you do for the society!

Drink and eat away the winter chills

The strongest soldiers amongst us are the second years who don't go to pub meal after the 6pm Algorithms lecture. Don't be like them. Make sure to come to the Duck with us this week to increase your chance of winning Rowan's secret mystery prize! (I'm very curious)

Remember that welfare will be present during pub meals if you have any issues :)

We've got a talk from Reply (a Systems Integration consultancy) on gen-AI!

Ever wondered what it's like to work as an AI Consultant? Reply will give insight into the world of consulting, specifically working with AI technologies, and various aspects of the roles within Reply. They're also going to showcase a real-world case study of a Generative AI project and the technical solution delivered.

Plus, you'll get some tips and tricks on the application process.

In the LAN, part of the LAN

For those who don't know, a LAN is an event where gamers unite to play over 48 hours straight. (You don't actually have to stay for the whole duration of LAN so feel free to come and go as you please!)

We are running an exciting lineup, including a UWCS quiz, CIV hotseat, Jackbox and card/board games just to name a few of my favourites.
